Who keeps Sweden running

In Swedish municipalities and regions, foreign-born staff went from 13% to 22% of employees between 2014 and 2024 (municipalities), and 14% to almost 20% (regions). Some occupations rely on foreign-born workers far more than that average — here they are, next to whether Sweden currently has a shortage in that job.

This covers 15 occupations, hand-matched between two real datasets — not all of them, and not a live feed. It's a proof of concept for joining Arbetsförmedlingen's demand data with SKR's foreign-born staffing data, not a finished picture of the whole economy.
